Hello,

I'm making a cake later today with a Farm theme. The top of the cake is to have a bed of straw with pigs. The last time I made "straw" colored icing, it looked more brown and no matter what I did I couldn't get the color I wanted.
So, have any of you had luck with it, and if so, how much of each color do you use to get there, and what colors do you use?

TIA

Sherry

sherry,
I used a golden yellow from wilton and added
a spec of brown. Smallest tiny amount.

I, too, add a tiny bit of brown to yellow. Usually, I just squeeze a tiny bit of my chocolate icing into the yellow. TINY bit!

Ok, I think that is where I went wrong. I made a light brown icing, and then tried to add yellow! So I guess I just had it backwards!

Thanks a bunch!

Sherry
