I have been up since 4 am and have been all week. I, my daughter, and SIL worked all yesterday afternoon until 11:30 into the evening making all the bouquets, table arrangements, and ceremony arrangements. I had finished the groom's cake on Thursday and the wedding cake yesterday around noon. The flowers are all made and the cake is done. All is ready to take to the reception venue. You'd think I could sleep.... BUT I CAN'T!!!!!! I'm stressing about getting this wedding cake to the pavillion all in one piece... which is absolutely ridiculous as it is right up the road from our vacation home and we've done worse trips. I'm stressed about my daughter's bouquet and whether she'll like it. I'm stressed about the weather as it's an outdoor wedding and there's sixty percent chance of rain! Yes, we also rented a tent and it is up, but I want a beautiful, sunny day for her! I've done flowers and cakes for so many weddings and I can say this one is the worst!!! Ok, got that off my chest, don't feel much better, but the alarm is going off so I guess it's time to get up and see my daughter get married. Thanks for listening.

Please remember to enjoy the day...you will remember the joy in your daughter's face as she marries the man she loves...I understand your feelings. I remember the eve of my wedding day - I realised at 3am that I had forgotten to make place card holders for some guests and a couple of other things. I made them as I ate my breakfast. It is meant to be good luck for rain on your wedding day so if it does rain, a lot or a little, or not at all, it's just the weather and that's pretty much the only thing you can't plan for. You have done everything you can to ensure it's a dream day...now enjoy it as one- because it is. princess.gif

you sound so nervous...you poor thing!! Don't worry.....everything will be fine...
My sister also rented a tent for her wedding. Under the Brooklyn Bridge, overlooking Manhattan... if you can imagine how gorgeous that is. Well, guess what? The day before and the day after the wedding was sunny and beautiful. The day of...well, it rained ALL DAY LONG. And, it was unseasonably cold.
But, we had a FANTASTIC time....everybody danced all night...had an extra drink to warm up and partied till they kicked us out!

Don't worry...it will be fine!

First, congratulations to the bride, and her family. I have been in your shoes and hope your wedding goes as smoothly as our did. My aunt did all the flowers and I catered and made the cakes. Have a great time today. Memories are being made.

Thank you everyone for your wishes of happiness for my daughter and new SIL. The wedding went off beautifully. Yes, it rained, but stopped about 10 a.m. and was a gorgous sunny day after that. The cakes made it to the site without a hitch ( I will post pics when we return to Memphis, but we're taking this week at our vacation home to recover). She said her bouquet and floral arrangements were all she imagined.... even though I forgot to make a throw bouquet!!! We improvised and the bouquet toss was saved! I took a pic of her cake and bouquet together and will post it when we get back. Right now I've finally caught up on sleep, almost caught up on laundry, and have a Mike's Hard Lemonade in hand. The sun and deck beckon and it's time to work on my sunburn! Again, thank you everyone for your thoughts.

Just remember that in the end, no matter if the wedding goes off perfectly or with a disaster, they will still have the same outcome . . . they will be married which is all that really matters. I remeber when I got married, I had nightmares about my maid of honor (who is a little clumsy) tripping while walking down the aisle and burning the church down. (my bridesmaids carried brandysniffers with a lit candle inside and flowers around the base. My MIL (back when she actually liked me) put a fire extinguisher at the front of the church just to make me feel better. But, nothing happened and I will be celebrating my 7 year anniversary this October and have never been happier. All of these funny memories make the day seem even better, because it gives you something to talk about later.
