Hi, all. New here -- and am LOVING all the CookieTalk! I'm trying to catch up on all of the older posts. Whew!
I am making some cookies for a friend and her 4 yr. old who's trip to Australia was cancelled. These will be just a pick-me-up for them and a practice-sesion for me. I have shark, kangaroo, fish (Nemo) and flag cutters, but I'm stumped for anything unusual or creative. Any ideas?
idea! australian landmarks. i know there's a famous bridge...a cc member did a really cool cake of it before. i forgot who and what the bridge was called and the sydney opera house.
other animals: platypus, tasmanian devil, emu, kookabura, wombat. oh here's a link: http://www.allaboutspace.com/subjects/animals/label/australia/labelanswers.GIF
You could do Matilda - the Boxing Kangaroo.
The Sydney Harbour Bridge
The Opera House
Aussie Cork Hat
The famous bridge is the Sydney Harbour Bridge. You could also do a boomerang, meat pie, football or girls in bikinis
If it's for a 4 yr old, they might get a kick out of seeing the Koala Brothers. If you're not familiar with them, it's a show on play house disney (playhousedisney.com) about two koala brothers and their friends and it's set in the Austrailian outback!
OOOH I LOVE the boomerang idea...also, how about an outline of the continent of Australia...that should't be too hard to find an image of and then
trace around the edge. You could just label the continent/country, or write
specific cities they were planning on viisting! Please post your pics when done, I'm excited to see what you come up with!
Thanks for all the great ideas!

Never heard of Matilda the boxing kangaroo -- that's too funny.
Aussie Cork Hat
That's funny, I'm gonna have to look that one up.
Can't wait to get started -- Thanks again!
