Hi Everyone!

I will be making a stacked birthday cake for ds's 1st birthday party next week. I am a newbie to cake decorating and have already picked up a lot of invaluable info from you all. I completed a practise cake last week and had some luck working with MMF. My question is regarding the bow which did not set well at all. Should I retry again using MMF only, or should I use gumtex alone for the bow, or a combo of the 2? What would be best at ensuring the bow will set. And how far in advance should I make the bow?

TIA!

I would use gumpaste. My gumpaste items have been taking a week to dry because of all the humidity we have had here in Maine. I'm sure if yu have air conditioning it would take only one or two days depending on the thickness of your bow.

I add gumtex to my fondant and my bows set nicely
