Hello,

I'm making a wedding cake with 12" 9" and 6" layers stacked. Would a base made of 4 cake circles be strong enough?

You know those cardboud thingies. Since I don't have any cool cake plates yet. So would 4 glued together be enough.

Instead of risking it with cardboard maybe get 1/2-3/4" plywood cut to the size you need and cover it with foil or pretty paper covered in contact paper. You can always remove the covering and use it for your next cake with new paper.

I bought a 2-pack of foil covered boards, either 12" or 14" rounds from Michaels. They also had the same in sheet cake size. I haven't used them yet but I think all they are is 1" thick styrofoam covered in foil. That may be another option for you.
