Hi everyone,
While looking at the cookie gallery, I noticed a cookie with a "strawberry
shortcake" picture on it. The poster said that she "printed the picture on the
fondant." How is this done? Is it difficult, and do you need special equipment?
I've only decorated with RI and would love to learn a new decorating technique. Thanks for any light that someone can shed on this topic for me!
Wonder if it was an edible image?
Here's a thread on rolled buttercream, that has info on using edible images on cookies:

Hi, yeah this is possible, I saw it here in Holland too. Normally you print edible images with edible paper (I don't know the name in English) and you use a special kind of printer that uses only edible ink. But the last thing is that you can now also use fondant for printing, I don't know what brand or where you can have this done though (only here in Holland I know someone but I don't think that will help
)
Hope you find someone who does this!

I did hear back from the original poster about her image put directly onto
fondant. She said that she had a special machine that did it for her. I sent
back another reply asking for more specifics about the machine, but haven't heard back from her. Does anyone know what kind of machine it could be?
She did mention that I could try the edible paper and ink, so that must not be what she is using! Hmmmm....
Hi Joanne 914,
I think you might mean the sweet art machine. Basically it is an inkjet printer that has been modified. I have one, it's great! go to www.sweetart.com to see it.
Hope that helps! ![]()
