I have been asked to make a cake to serve 40 people. The customer would like an 11x15 single layer cake. This looks small to me for 40 people. I was thinking about making an 8" round to go on top.....what do you think?

Here's a link to "the math" on figuring servings.

Hi and Welcome, MadCat. icon_smile.gif

Here's indydebi's helpful guide to cutting single layer sheet cakes:
(2x2x2 serving size.)

And a helpful chart:

Seems youe 11x15 only serves 35. Maybe add 5 cupcakes... A single layer 8" serves 6.
