yeeEEEAHHH!! I'm so glad that someone is listening. I'm trying to work with Crisco here but I might have to track down hi-ratio?? Heard of it but haven't seen it....but then I don't do most of my supply shopping. But hey, that pic is just about it for me. My icing often has an air bubbly look like that. And talk about sweating...I just can't recall having a sweaty cake until they changed the formula. (the condensation)
I just don't remember that happening. Maybe it's me.
Darn it I just used up my old stuff and was planning to get more tomorrow. I hope my walmart still has some. I haven't been on in a while so this is the first I heard. I emailed them just in case. Power in numbers.
I think that what I find amazing about this whole Crisco situation is that Crisco didn't realize how many cake decorators that were out here using their product. You would think they would have experimented with icing before they came out with the "New Trans Fat Free" Crisco. They say that they tried it on all different types of receipes. Obviously they didn't try it in icing. I bet that they will realize it now with so many changing to another product.

I just love it when companies try to give me any bullsh** logic about "....our marketing surveys and our research show this is MUCH better!" (even tho' our phone is ringing off the hook with complaints!)

even though we don't yet have the NEW and IMPROVED no-trans fat crisco, and our grocery stores are loaded with the ORIGINAL version - i've already started using HI-RATIO and must say it is THE BEST - no air bubbles, smooth as can be!
i use the "canola harvest" brand and get it from our bakery supplier "BRIDGE BRAND"...hope this may help some of you...

same here, I haven't noticed any difference in our Crisco yet.. but it was on the news last night that Canada will be requiring that all foods that have trans fat become "trans fat free" or lower it significantly by 2010 or something. Wonder how that's going to go over...
Well I just got my call. She started the conversation with, "We have no answers for you at this time. There is nothing I can do for you. I will send your e-mail to our corporate offices." I did ask her if they have had many complaints and she did say quite a few. But she did not know if they will be doing anything about it.
They make my beloved Sweetex (hi-ratio) shortening into a puddle of trans fat free junk and I'll be crying in my frosting!! Let's pray they leave well enough alone or they will have cake decorators and pastry chefs the world over marching on capital hill!! Why can't we decide for ourselves what we can or should put into our mouths!!??? Geesh, I'm sick of the government telling me what to do!!
