I have 3 kids to make a cake for and I would love to find a way to incorporate them all into one cake and need some ideas, please. There is a boy turning 1... wants a puppy, a boy turning 3, wants a truck or car and a girl turning 6, wants a disney princess theme.... anyone have any ideas on how to make one cake for them all? Any ideas would be wonderful. Please help!!! The cakes in all need to feed about 40 people, give or take. I have no problem making more than needed if the ideas would work better for that. I would just rather not have 3 different cakes for them all since it is one big party for the 3 of them as they are cousins and their bdays are within a 4 day span.

Thanks!!

a princess riding in a truck with a puppy sitting next to it?

Do you think the kids would rather each have their own small cake? It may make them feel a little more special than having to share one, JMO.

just going to throw it out there....

what about a princess puppy trapped in a tall tower (tall hat and all) and a gallant sir knight puppy coming to rescue her in his noble truck, with an army of trucks behind?

could be cute icon_biggrin.gif or a disaster icon_confused.gif

but i'm going with cute icon_biggrin.gif

I don't know about the Disney Princess but for the dog and the truck you could make a fire engine with some dalmations on it. Maybe you could just do a Princess cake by itself. Or you could do a cake with a bunch of Disney characters on it. Princesses, Pluto and Goofy, some cars from the Cars movie. I'm not sure but I think I would do 2 cakes, one for the boys and one for the Princess.

maybe one for the boys and one for the girl on second thought. one of the boys is only 1, so he won't remember he wanted dogs quite as much as the elder children will want their themes, so his dog theme wouldn't have to be too very central on the truck cake. the girl is 6, so this is a very special bday and i think she should have her very own princess cake.

How about a small princess castle, with a waterslide coming down the cake. The vehicle on the waterslide could be one of the carz movie vehicles with a fun puupy riding with his princess in it!

Maybe you could make it 3 layers, each with their favorite flavor, and have each layer the design they want. That might be more work than you want, but it's a thought.

This is a hard one, isn't it... I had thought about making a princess castle, somewhat under construction, with a construction type truck "building" it... but, then I can't figure out how to do the puppy.... AAARRRGGGHHH!

Put the puppy (s) in a hard hat and make them the "crew"!

How about one big sheet with three 6" cakes on top. One 6" cake for each of them, decorated in it's own special way with "Happy Birthday ____" on each one. Use separater plates, or sturdy cake boards underneath them, so they are removable. That way they can cut up the big cake during the party, and the removable 6" cakes can be saved for the kids later. So you do what you are asked by incorporating it all into one cake, and yet the kids still feel special enough to have their very own cake.

You might consider what I am doing for my nieces and nephew. They are turning 1 and 2 at about the same time. I am doing a two level cake the bottom in pink with a 1 on it and some girl toys and the second with a 2 and boy toys. I am going to link them all with a train going around from the bottom to the top. (fondant) Because the mom wants a pic. of the three destroying each I am making 3, 4 inch cakes with butter cream and a little bear on top for them to mess up.

For yours you can do a three level cake and each level with the age and theme on it. maybe a plane with a crew from each theme or car. I would have a small cake for the youngest at least for the mother, I would make 3 just to be fair.
