I'm doing the white chocolate pound cake doctored recipe from the cake dr.book. It calls for 6 ounces of white chocolate. All that I have is the wilton's white chocolate melts. Will this work?

The candymelts are not really chocolate, they have a really high amount of sugar and are low of cacaobutter, and I think they are really for the candymaking etc. I would use normal white chocolate for you cake, then you are sure that it gets the real white choc taste!

Good luck!!

The melts aren't even flavored like white chocolate, they taste like vanilla candy. For consistency they would work but you won't get the same taste.

I would say no, not as an alternate in a recipe like that.
