So today a friend of mine asked me to do three cakes . One per day for three days. I have never done that many so close together. Day 1 a small wedding cake for about 35. Day 2 A Family reution cake about 40. Day 3 Bay Shower cake for about 25. I think I need some help with the family reunion cake. It will be a sheet cake. i am going to need these to be sort of uncomplicated. Because I have to have these done Aug. 11,12,13. Will be doing buttercream. Also two will have fillings I can purchase. But one she wants choc. mint filling. Also need some recipes for this. She just found out yesterday that I decorated cakes. Mind you this is my hobby. But she still wants to pay me. I need you ideas.
Thanks.

There are some great ideas for a family reunion here. I like the one with the scrapbook of family member pictures on it. I plan to do that for my own family reunion in Sept.

Here's an idea for the family reunion cake, do a tree and have little banners in the tree with mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle etc. Or do faces made from fondant or mmf, and put them in the tree. HTH, Kristen

What if you did a sheet cake iced in one color then an oval shape in the middle iced in a different color. Then in that oval write the family name.

You could draw a family tree on a sheet cake and just list some of the last names in each generation.

There is an awesome one on this site done by HollyPJ, I have it saved in my favourites. It is in the Birthday cake gallery, the keywords she has are family, tree and apples. I think it's really nice and fairly simple.
