I have been asked to make a cake for a co-worker's daughters 21st birthday. She wants to do the party in a "martini" theme. Can anyone out there help me? I would steal shamelessly if you post a picture icon_razz.gif

I've had this picture saved in my favorites and have been dying to try it. I think it could easily be modified to a martini theme. Obviously, it's not my pic... but I think it's a great idea.

That cake is adorable! Do you think it is carved from a sheet cake and then covered with fondant?

That would be my guess. I definitely haven't seen any shaped pans like this and I think it could be carved from a sheet cake... maybe in two or three seperate pieces... maybe one piece if you're really careful with the stem. I think I would do it in three pieces (top, stem, base) and then cover with fondant.

I'm not sure how big you're making the cake, but I recently used the really big martini glasses (2 ft) that they sell at michaels as a cake stand filled with pink lemonade and then on the cake (2 tiered round) I did l in white with pink swirls and little fondant olives as the border all the way around. I unfortunately forgot my camera and am waiting for my friend to send me pics, but hopefully that helps a little.

I think something like http://www.cakecentral.com/modules/coppermine/albums/userpics/15749/normal_celcake_-_pinkmartiniwm.jpg would be adorable! This is by user antonia74 which I found just doing an image search for martini.
