Anyone know how to make fondant look like Brocade Lace?
Rachel
Do you have a picture or something?
I know brocade as a fabric but I can't picture what brocade lace is ![]()
I've seen molds for lace before. Sweet Celebrations sells the in their catalogue. I'm just not sure if they are for "brocade" lace. Like lucasross, I'm not sure what the difference is, sorry.
Well, most pictures of brocade lace are not appropriate for the forum cuz they make things like corsets out of them.
It's usually satin or silk with a raised pattern. Part of the fabric is shiny and part is often matte. Here's a fabric sample...

I agree with peg818, the only way is the rolling pin, a brush and some luster/pearl dust. I have used the molds, they are beautiful but not his look. Another idea is to take a cake covered in MMF/fondant and stencil a pattern on with royal and then hit that with the dusts.
Good luck and please post your picture so we can see what you did!
