There is a wholesale company here and they sell different types of fondant. I am checking out the Satin Fine Foods fondant and it looks pretty good. Anyone tried this one yet? I'm a bit hesitant to use MMF as it is pretty humid and hot down here where I live. I'm concerned the MMF may sweat a bit more due to the extra glycerin and syrup content in marshmallows. Does anyone have any favorite fondant they use - either homemade or commercial?

Thanks icon_smile.gif

Just tried out Satin Ice today for the first time, and it's now my favorite, but if I have to use another one, it'll be MMF.

I use MMF and I love it. I live in Florida and so far I haven't had a problem with it sweating. I never refrigerate fondant covered cake though, it would probably sweat pretty badly in that case.

I have used Wilton and did not like the taste or texture. I recently started playing around with the MMF recipe found here and loved it. I just did my daughter's 3rd b-day cake and molded elmo's from the MMF and it was a big hit. Once I download the pics, I will post them.

All i use anymore is satin ice. If i can't get any or i just plain run out. I make my own, using the recipe in the cake bible.

so the consensus is Satin Ice. Cool. Once I get more adept with playing with the fondant, that's the one I'll go with. I just came back from Walmart and picked up some marshmallows for the fondant and the Wilton Deluxe tip set. Plan on playing with these tomorrow.
