What Do You Do With The Closed Star Tip?

Is the closed star tip only good for making drop flowers? I've opened up all of mine and use them for decorating as an open star. No drop flowers ever come out of my closed stars right ... and my frosting is not too thick.

Mine stay in the bottom of my plastic container and never get used. icon_smile.gif

i used my tip saver and opened all of mine. icon_wink.gif

I have never been able to do drop flowers either
