i am using hte strawberry cake recipe off this site, and it calls for 1/2 cup of strawberry puree made from frozen strawberries. but it doesn't tell me how to make the puree. do i thaw and blend them in the blender? do i mix with water and sugar and then blend? has any one made this cake before?

When I made it, I just put them in my food processor. I found the recipe too sweet for my taste though. I am going to omit one cup of sugar next time I make it.
