Ok, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to do the cupcake shaped cake. I've attached a copy of a picture by Rebecca Sutterby.....that I LOVE!!!!! Any ideas on how to achieve this???

I know that Wilton sells a cupcake cake pan.

You could do a 6 inch round with half of the mini ball pan on top which is 6 inches. That should give you pretty much the shape you are looking for.

Wow, that is really CUTE! I wonder if she just baked a round cake and carved to taper it, layed the fondant on and used a toothpick to achieve the fluted look around the cupcake. Just my thoughts...

I haven't thought about using the 1/2 mini ball pan...that's a great idea! Then shape, making the "grooves". If I do this, I'll be sure to post a picture.

I did pm her...but I'm sure she's WAY TOO BUSY...these days...but we'll see. Forgot to add, I'm a huge fan of her work!! What a success story!

You could bake in a terracotta flower pot (with the hole at the bottom covered with wax paper) use a recipe that rises which would give you the bluge shape at the top. I've baked in flowerpots before with no problems. Just make sure they're flowerpots meant for outside as the inside ones aren't made to withstand high temperatures.
