I need to make some gold, 50th anniversary gold, roses for this weekend, what's the best way to do this? I will be making them out of Royal, should I just use white and paint them with luster dust or do I color the icing then paint them? Thanks, Katie

I'm no expert but I painted chocolate plastic roses with luster dust and they looked great! If you are doing it from royal I would say color the icing a good backround shade to the gold like something in the yellow family then let dry and luster!

I just did this a couple of weeks ago! I made roses out of white fondant and then painted them with gold luster dust. I was happy with them. You can see the picture in my photos. Good luck.
