Can anyone tell me how/if I can cover the top of a 9x11 w MMF and have a swimming pool in the middle? Should I maybe cut out the pool, fill it with piping gel over the fondant or will this make it sticky? TO cut or not to cut I guess is my Question. I will cover the sides with green B/C for grass, the pool s/b piping gel and then the fondant on top will be gray like concrete. ANy suggestions are gratefully received!! Starting this tomorrow and have to been done by 5:00 pm.

IMO:

I think it would be a great idea to cut out where the pool is. Not only will it keep the fondant from becoming sticky, but it will also give more depth to your design. (Meaning that the water will be at a level below the top of the cake, not above the cake top. Giving a more realistic look to your pool!)

could you carve/cut out the pool before you put the fondant on, then smooth the fondant down into the indentation and put the piping gel on top of the fondant in the pool? I'm not sure if it would make it sticky or not, it probably would, but would it matter since it's "under water"??? GOod luck!

Diana, this is what I had originally thought to do but the issue of it degrading the fondant was the problem. What if I cut it our and put BC(white) in the pool then the gel?
