I just did my first paid cake. when I finished I thought the one side seemed to bulge alittle but not too much so I was not too worried. well the woman who picked up the cake ( a co-worker of my dh ) had to take it about an hour away to the party. it was 90 out that day and when we told her to keep her air conditioner going she just said " they windows are tinted so it stays pretty cool back there" icon_surprised.gif needless to say, she said that when she got to her destination the whole front of the cake had fallen off!!!! all the icing, and the filling was oozing out. She said the cake was delish, and everyone was commenting on how beautiful the design was. Oh well in the end she was still very happy and said that it was all due to the long drive, although I can't help but think it was my fault. I think my dam was not thick enough. icon_cry.gif I will know for next time.

Lovely design! As long as the customer didn't blame you, relax and see what you can learn from it.

The cake is just gorgeous! Love the colors!

So sorry that this happened to you. I'm sure that the car ride w/o air conditioning did not help at all. icon_sad.gif Every single cake I do, I learn something new. So just chalk this one up to a lesson learned, and get ready for the next one! You do beautiful work!
