Hi
Have just started decorating cakes and love this, but I'm not so confident with making the cakes themselves! Basic square/rounds cakes are ok, but anything larger or different shapes I have trouble with...
I need to bake a 2litre (or bigger) bowl sponge cake - how do I cook this without it going dry on the outside and soggy in the centre? (am making it in a glass bowl). Do I bake it at a low temperature for longer?
Any good recipes that are moist would also be much appreciated!
Many thanks, Nicki

you can put a flower nail upside down in the center and bake at 325 instead of 350.

Baking cakes in oven safe bowls is a wonderful way to expand your pan collection!! I use the pampered chef mixing bowls to bake all of the time. I usually back at 325 for quite awhile (the larger bowl usually takes 1 hour and 15 minutes). A flower nail didnt seem to speed up the process any because of the depth of the bowl. HTH.
