Hello all! I am making a nemo cake for my daughters birthday. I'm unsure of what kind of frosting/icing to use. I'm not an experienced baker just like to play icon_smile.gif I tried making flowers for her last cake and I think it wasn't stiff enough to hold. So, I'm needing some tips on how to go about making the little stars. Thanks for any advice you guys can give.

Also, how do use the VIVA paper towels? And for what?

Thanks!!!!!

I use a half butter, half shortening buttercream icing. You can use a #16 tip to make the stars.

If you go to the articles section on this site there is an article about the Viva towel method. It gives step by step directions. It is for smoothing your icing.

Welcome to Cake Central!!

I use a med consistency BC for all of my character pan/stars. I have not used the paper towel trick, not quite sure how to also.
