Keep in mind that its not done yet...the pearls aren't on the bottom tier yet and they aren't secured. I'm also putting a monogram on brushed with the pearl dust.

Or feel free to offer other suggestions

maybe cornelli lace??? Where the monogram will be put? maybe it'll help figuring out what it's going to look like...

Hmm... I am seeing the monogram in an oval. Around the monogram, withen the oval possibly cornelli lace (depends on the lettering for the monogram) Then for the border of the oval small pearls or dots (not sure if you happen to have small pearls made already.

But If you gave me that as a wedding cake as is I would be perfectly happy with it. But I like very simple cake that make a statement.

Not sure if I really helped or made the options worse.... guess i'll have to wait and see how it turns out.

I think it would be pleasing to see some of the flower color lower down like a ribbon under the pearls , or just a few stray flowers or petals even on the cake board, But if you are going for very modern and clean, leave it.

I think it is beautiful - clean and elegant. I think dots - you don't want to get too much going on as beautiful as it already is. The cornelli lace would be pretty around the oval monogram as suggested, then maybe dots on the other layers.

Beautiful. Are those fresh hydrangeas on top? They're my fav flower but I always thought they would not hold up (esp on a hot day). Rookie question...do you just stick the stems of fresh flowers directly in the cake on something like this?

It's beautiful as it is! But, if you feel like it needs more, I think the scrolls would "flow" more with your figure on top. Since you already have the pearls, the dots might be too much.

If you have time, you could also try sketching on one of the templates in the galleries tab to see if that would work for you.

Tiffysma & emnjakesmom : thank you both very much for the comments & suggestions...very much appreciated!

mug: these are silk hydrangeas....as far as fresh ones I'm not sure...I think you need to cover the stems with something before sticking them into a cake.

No dots ,and it needs more for sure, I think with the border you have, scrolls would be a good combination. Beautiful cake

I voted scrolls. I think it would be a nice contrast with the pearls around the bottom. It's beautiful as is!

The cake I am doing for my daughters wedding in Sept, will look very similar to this. I am going to have pearls (three in a line) going down from top of tier, and spaced about an inch apart, going all around each layer.

Does this make sense? I am terrible about explaining things. I've already made all the luster pearls. I have a gallon sized baggie filled with them.

Your cake looks very elegant so far, and to keep that simple elegant look, I wouldn't do scroll. I like a simple look.

Just my opinion, anxious to find out what you decide to do.

Cindy
