Stacked Cakes

I am new to doing stacked cakes and was wondering if a 10" and a 8" double layer stacked cake would look okay or should I stick with a 10" and a 6"?

I have done both, and it will look just fine. It does depend on how you plan to decorate though. If you are placing flowers or chocolate covered strawberries or figures for instance, you might do better with the 10 and 6 so there is more room around your stacked tier. HTH
