DON'T

if they can see your calendar, you'll never be able to make the excuse for whatever reason of: "Can't, already booked that weekend."

Ooooh, I never thought of that. Perhaps I can throw in the old "well, I've just been so busy lately that I havent been able to update my web calendar but, Yep....looks like I am booked that day" if all fails.

Point well taken, Doug and thanks. icon_biggrin.gif

Agree with Doug.

If there is any time you have that is fairly open, a person could try to use that as a way to get you to come down in price. i.e. "Well, your calendar doesn't look like you're too busy wouldn't you rather do it for less than not do it at all?" type of deal. KWIM?

building on peajay66's comment...

and do you really want to have to block off all the times you take vacation, have a personal party and announce it to the world.

hey world, I'm on vacation for the next two weeks...house is empty! come "shopping"

This is the exact reason we don't "announce when my FT boss will be gone" (he's a chiropractor). No reason to give the dishonest people in the world an easier target!

You know, I didnt think about any of this. So glad you pointed this out. I was looking for an easy way to try to curb the phone calls of "I need a cake tomorrow for 50 people, do you have time? " and "can you get me in next saturday at noon" types but for safety and headaches sake, I think it is easier to just take the calls!

For the people calling the day before you can have it stated on your site that you require a certain amount of days for an order. And if they give you less there is an additional $25.00 charge (or something like that)

As for the "get me in next saturday at noon" well these I think you still want to take, mainly b/c even on a calender if they see you have 5 cakes... those may be wedding cakes or party cakes, and depending on what they are would probably depend on what you wanted to take on as additional orders.

But I am another one that votes No for the calender. It also leaves you the option to sound swamped even if you aren't. If your swamped and you will "fit them in" wow you must be good b/c your in High demand!
