I have a wedding cake to set up at 4pm this afternoon. I have a 12" chocolate layer out of the oven...yep, last minute...can I pop it into the fridge to speed the cooling down process, or will it cause cracking??? I'm in a major time jam... Any suggestions???
Amy
I have cooled cakes in the freezer before without any cracking. good luck.
Doug, you ARE a lifesaver! No more of me taking on so many orders at one time. It doesn't help that my mixer just blew. Goodbye hand mixers....hello commerical mixer!

Cake is wrapped and in the freezer...now to pace and bite nails until cooled... LOL.
Thanks again guys!!!

Good Luck!!
Not a last minute baker, just baked vanilla instead of chocolate fudge layer! Yikes! It's not even 3pm, and thankfully, I'm loading up and ready to go for my 4pm set up. Thanks everyone!!!

Doug and everyone, thanks again for the last-minute life saving!!! I am posting a picture of the finished cake. I love this board!!! I'm going to add the picture to my photos. The cake is the one with the red rose petals on each of the three tiers.
