Hello!
I'm making my son's 1st birthday cake and I want to have a few decorated sugar cookies standing on top of the cake. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this without the cookies falling?
Thanks!

get:

  • lollipop sticks or
    wooden BBQ skewers or
    popsicle sticks

> attach to back of cookie w/ royal icing "glue"
> let dry
> stick into cake

viola! stand up cookies!

I've never tried but I would think you could put a stick in the cookie before you bake it - like you would if you were making a cookie bouquet.

I tried baking 2 sticks into a large cookie and it tipped over backwards a few minutes after I put it into the cake.

I think gluing the stick to the cookie with royal icing it a better method. I ended up doing that after the first one fell over and it worked much better.
