I am making a cake for my goddaughter's 2nd birthday. Her mom wants the elmo cake that's in the Wilton Yearbook. (the one with the character pan cake on top of a large round cake)

Do I have to support Elmo somehow, or do I just put him directly on top of the other cake?

Thanks,
Brandi

I would put a few dowels in the bottom cake, and put elmo on a cake board. Just so he doesn't tip over, you might consider putting a small center dowel through the whole thing - I personally would just feel safer! Though, if you don't have to transport it, then I wouldn't worry about the center one, just a few to hold Elmo up!

Hi Brandi, I would put a card board under the Elmo (fit to the size of the cake) and put some dowels in the round cake for support. I think the Wilton yearbook also uses the stacked construction for this cake!

HTH!
