How Do I Put Fondant Figures Together W/o Squashing Them?
Decorating By kathik Updated 13 Jun 2007 , 2:34pm by kjt
I have been working on fondant figures and the hardest part for me is when I attach pieces (like the head and neck together, etc.) How do I do this without ruining the work, yet connect them well enough that they don't fall apart or show a "seam"?
Thanks,
Kathi
I'm sure no expert, but do you make a hole (I use the end of one of my artists brushes) in the body, and elongate the "neck" to fit into the body? That may help. ![]()

Even tho there's not really a neck it makes a more secure connection than just the head sitting on the body. I use "glue" in the hole-but just a tiny bit, or it makes the pieces too soft. Are you using straight fondant, if so that may be your problem-a 50/50 fondant/gumpaste mixture works well. You can also use a toothpick in the body, and then gently push the head, arms, legs, etc., on. That may help. ![]()
