I have been working on fondant figures and the hardest part for me is when I attach pieces (like the head and neck together, etc.) How do I do this without ruining the work, yet connect them well enough that they don't fall apart or show a "seam"?

Thanks,
Kathi

Do you put any gumtex in it? This will help it firm up better. Also waiting until the pieces are pretty dry. As for the "seam", I'm not sure. Sorry that's all I got. I'm pretty new at this too. I'm sure you'll get a better answer soon. icon_smile.gif

I'm sure no expert, but do you make a hole (I use the end of one of my artists brushes) in the body, and elongate the "neck" to fit into the body? That may help. icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm sure no expert, but do you make a hole (I use the end of one of my artists brushes) in the body, and elongate the "neck" to fit into the body? Even tho there's not really a neck it makes a more secure connection than just the head sitting on the body. I use "glue" in the hole-but just a tiny bit, or it makes the pieces too soft. Are you using straight fondant, if so that may be your problem-a 50/50 fondant/gumpaste mixture works well. You can also use a toothpick in the body, and then gently push the head, arms, legs, etc., on. That may help. icon_rolleyes.gif
