Hi, I'm so excited, I'll be starting in August @ HObby Lobby as a WMI!! I've already received my notebook and I'm waiting on my kit to come in the mail. I know there are lots of instructors on this site, are any of you at HObby Lobby? I know the pay, I was wondering more about the benefits? LIke, wilton gift certiciates (I know you get one after you track your first class, do you ever get anymore)? Also, does HL offer you to do demos or project classes like Michaels' does?

When it comes down to it, not enough! The store gets to take their cut off the top. I taught a class at a local college and the school took 25% off the top, another 25% for space usage, and I got the rest. Never again!

Hi. I also teach at Hobby Lobby for Wilton. I would say that the manager & your relationship will make or break it for you. Fortunately, the manager at the store that I have is very cool and pretty much just lets me run the show as far as class times & days, etc. I have never done a Demo their, but maybe that is a specific store thing. If I am purchasing items for use for myself, if it is the manager that waits on me I usually get the employee discount. Not sure again if this is protocol or not!!
Also, as far as Wilton is concerned, they treat their instructors very well! You get additional g.c. when you do things like track on time and meet your monthly goal. Make sure that you go to the instructor meetings and instructor seminars, they are well worth the trip! You get tons of freebies and lots of great advice! Be sure to email if you have any other questions!! I love the experience!

Sorry I can't help with the Hobby Lobby part. I just started teaching at Michael's on July 10th. I have a good working relationship with the Event Coordinator and the manager so far and hope it will continue to be as good as it is icon_smile.gif So far, it's been a lot of fun!!
