I found a package of putty knives at wal-mart for getting those straight edges. They are plastic and they come in 3 sizes.. 1 1/2", 3", and 6" for $1.88per package. I washed them in hot bleach water and they seem to work really well!!! I used the hot water treatment on them when trying to smoothe the top of my ccc and it works pretty well!!

thanks
just thought I'd share

I looked for something like that at my WalMart and all I could find was the flooring metal ones with grooves. What department were you in?

they were in the paint section. on one side of the isle was the rollers then i happened to turn left and there they were with like the masks and such..

if you don't find them ask an employee.. they are brown in color and come in a three pack it just has like cardboard holding them together.

here's the item number i'm assuming upc number
003706418836-

here the listing number (i think instead of having a stock name it has a number)
000370641883

Hey i got some of those also. My daughters were like, "Mama what are you going to do with those". They are really helpful for the sides. And recycling your practice icing off the wax paper. That's what my kids like to do.
