I was told to put something in my old fondant to make it easy again to work with but I don't remember what??

TIA

I'm not sure what can be added to old fondant, but if I nuke it for just a few seconds (maybe 10-15, depending on how much fondant), it softens right up and seems like new. HTH!

To keep commercial fondant soft, I place a wet paper towel in a sandwich bag and leave it open in the container with the fondant. The fondant itself is in a closed plastic bag. Note: you do not want the paper towel to ever come in contact with the fondant itself. Works like a charm, no more cracked and dry fondant.

I store homemade fondant wrapped in 2 layers of plastic wrap and then in a zip lock bag. I place it in the freezer if I need to store for a long time, in the fridge if needed soon.

For both, if they ever become slightly hard, I nuke them for a couple seconds in the microwave, then knead to make certain any lumps are gone before use.
