We have new neighbors and I'd like to take them something small and cute. Any ideas? I have a lot going on at the moment, so looking for little work with a lot of personality! lol Is there such a thing?

You could make a small cake, and write "Welcome to the neighborhood. Then make a street sign with the street name and maybe a drawing of their house (simple and cartoony with their house colors or number on it) out of icing.

Or just use the street sign and surround it with flowers?

What about a cupcake bouquet? Simple but look wonderful.

How about cookies in a house shape. You could match color up with the houses in your area and on their cookie put their address and say welcome home

Not sure if this is more than you would like to do: an edible image of their house "framed" in fondant.

new neighbors --
friends we haven't met yet.

-----

cake that looks like a fancy welcome mat.

----------------------

cake that looks like a list or personal phone book of names & phone numbers -- and their's is the newest one on the list.

---------------------

cake that looks like a basket w/ a loaf of bread, salt and a bottle of wine
(from movie It's a Wonderful Life ---

Quote:
Quote:

Mary: Bread... that this house may never know hunger.
[Mary hands a loaf of bread to Mrs. Martini]
Mary: Salt... that life may always have flavor.
[Mary hands a box of salt to Mrs. Martini]
George Bailey: And wine... that joy and prosperity may reign forever. Enter the Martini Castle.
[George hands Mr. Martini a bottle of wine]

this could also be done as a large plate w/ cake to look like loaf of bread, bottle of wine and a little dish of "salt".

make a plate of spaghetti cake

Draw their house on a cake. I've done this several times using the realtor's pictures as a guide. There are a couple in my photos.
