I started watching this thread and also hoping that someone would answer you. I don't have any ideas on books, but I did take a marzipan class to learn how to make those little fruits and someone in the class said you can also buy them (fuits) at www.marzipanworld.com
I looked on the site and they have tons of different items for sale that I have tried to duplicate in fondant or gumpaste on occasion. Matter of fact, I am also modeling some dinos for a cake for two weeks from now and downloaded some pics of the dino & dragons they had as a reference. There is another site I frequent as well is www.sculpey.com It's a website for clay making, but they have some great little tutorials under their projects. I saw a little crocodile from there that I may try to use as well.
Great thread! I hope you get more information from some of the other members.
Oh, and about Aine2....isn't she AWESOME????
My mouth just drops when I see her stuff! Very impressive!!! I wanna be here when I grow up.
thanks for the tip on sculpey.com I will take a look
try checking out the modeling clay books at your craft store, I have more of those type of books than I do cake deco books for modeling with sugar (fondant, candy clay, gumpaste, pastillage, modeling chocolate, etc.).
