I did a cake for a friend with a dolphin on it and I used piping gel, but the dolphin has air bubbles in it. I tried popping them with a pin but that seemed to make things worse. I have used piping gel before for a rainbow and don't remember having lots of air bubbles.

Did you stir it too briskly? I know that will create air bubbles. Sorry, the only way I know of to get rid of them is with a pin, which, as you said made things worse. Maybe someone else can answer that part for you.

"get air bubbles out of piping gel."

That's one of the things I stress to my students. Never stir briskly in icing or piping gel, unless you want bubbles. icon_lol.gif

When you mixed your color into the piping gel did you stir in the figure 8 pattern? This is suppose to remove the bubbles just in case you didn't know.

yeah the figure 8 thing works good... pretty much after you have bubbles they are there for good.
