Making Heart Out Of Round Cake

Hi y'all
I am having a dilemma. I am making a three stacked heart cake this weekend for my grandparents 30th anniversary. It is a 16", 12", and 8"cake. The problem is I could not find an 8" heart pan. Can someone tell me how to make a heart out of a circle cake.
Thanks so much
If you have an 8x8 square pan bake that and a 8 inch round. Cut the round in half and place it on two sides of the square. You now have a heart.
But to acheive an 8" wouldn't those need to be trimmed a bit to get the final cake to the 8" desired? I was thinking of this same thing...and wondered about the trimming part.
Just wondering...
Take your 12 inch heart pan and trace it onto paper. Draw a heart inside the lines following the outline of your 12 inche heart but going in two inches. Cut the heart out of the paper, place the paper on top of the baked cake, and cut the cake with a serrated knife around the template you just made of paper.
