Mine are green. The color eventually wears off. I work where I have to wash my hands frequently, so by tonight they should be just about right!

Before mixing colors, i put a light coat of crisco on my hands then the color seems to wash off better.

I had to LOL. I work in a minor emergency clinic. When checking in a patient complaining of alot of sinus drainage we usually ask what color their drainage is (yellow or green-sinus infection). Never had to check anyone in with blue or green "stuff"!!

Mine are hot pink. I've been colouring fondant for my two boys who wanted to make cakes for a decorating contest at school tomorrow. Love those electric colours!

I had to laugh at these posts! I always come home from work with multi-colored hands. By the time I finally start to get them back to normal I have to go to work again. I have to wonder about what people think when they see! Oh and the colors we blow from our noses icon_biggrin.gif

when I worked in the salon I leanred if you rubbed some shampoo where the color was on the skin ( without water...just straight shampoo, something about the heat of the water helps set the color into your skin)when you rinsed the color came right off the skin also....so I do this with soap when decorating. thumbs_up.gif

Mine were reddish pink and purple after cleaning up...and I was thinking of a good way to clean them off that I could post! Thought it was interesting that someone else has the same question. I just use Zest bar soap, a nail scrubbing brush and really hot water!

God Bless!

That happens to me, too. When I remember, I use latex gloves - the sterile ones that they use at the hospital. They aren't great for all the shaping, but they work for kneading color into fondant, or if i'm opening food coloring and just putting some in the buttercream.

i just wash a bunch of times with soap and water. It is water soluble, so that is usually enough. If there are particularly bad times, i will sometimes soak my hands for a minute or so in a bleach and water solution. It really dries out the hands, but it does help.

Mine are blue right now. Hubby always laughs at my hands and asks why I don't wear gloves...well tonight I put on the gloves to mix my fondant but then when I went to rinse things off I still got blue....I guess I am just meant to be the colorful one icon_biggrin.gif

Airbrush cleaner works pretty well to remove color from your skin. Even if you don't have an airbrush, it's cheap and a bottle will last a good long time.

Well, i just coat lightly, its more like rubbing in some hand cream. Cause where i get the most stains is in the driest areas of my hands. It won't prevent all of the color and i do work with more fondant then with regular bc.
