I used the recipe that is in the recipe section of this site. http://www.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-1603-Rolled-Buttercream-Icing-Recipe.html

I used it on cookies - works great and the guests loved them.

I just played with my first batch of the RBC and LOVED it. Very easy to work with on cookies. My first attempt was Grad caps. I then moved on to bikinis and flip flops. Very fun!!!

I have only used it on cakes and never cookies, how would you adhere it? My cake customer swore I put sugar daddies on her cake, it was that good she said icon_smile.gif

I had them all rolled out and cut out and in the freezer so when my cookies came out of the oven, I let them cool for about 2 minutes before I put the "frozen" RBC on. It just "melts" onto the cookie. Works really well.

I let my cookies cool, have the RBC cutouts in the freezer and use light corn syrup to adhere to cookies.
Works great...

I tried this last week and was disappointed. I had a lot of trouble getting the rbc off the mat, and then it would stretch or tear. The ones I got on the cookies melted so much it looked weird. So i am guessing I put it on to quick, should let cool a couple minutes first. But how do I get off the mat easier. It was a little sticky, maybe i rolled to thin, I thought about 1/8 in or so. I just wrapped up the left overs and figured I would try a different day. any advice

Roll and cut the RBC and place it in the freezer for easier release off of the surface. That always works for me.

Thanks for all the info. I'm going to try a batch for this weekend to try out on family. I'll let you know how they turn out.
