I've never used luster dust.
I'm wondering if you can add the dust to the royal icing or does it have to be painted on?
I don't have any vodka or other clear alcohol to use, so I'm looking for an alternate.
Thanks.

By no means am I an expert on this, but I believe you have to either add alcohol to the luster dust or dry brush it on. I don't think it would work to add it to the royal icing, but you could try it with a little bit and see what happens. Sorry I'm not much help, but maybe someone else will see this and have more info.

Thanks mawagner!
I guess I'll just have to give it a try or get to the store and get some alcohol.

If you have lemon extract or any flavoring extract with a high % of alcohol in it, you can use that instead of the vodka.
