Hello all. I need some help with fresh flowers for a wedding cake. The BTB is having the stargazers (Lily), freesia, delphinium, & dendrolium in her boquet and was wondering if I can use these on her cake as a garnish. I have looked on the list but dont see any of them on there. But looking at some photos I have seen the lily used on many cakes as garnish. Thanks for the help Megan

I would think they could be used on a cake. If you were worried about them changing the flavor of the icing or anything you could always use silk ones. That would look pretty too and you wouldn't have to worry about them wilting.

According to this link, delphinium is a poisonous flower: http://www.cakesunlimited.net/html/body_poisonous_flowers.html

i would ask a knowledgeable and reputable florist who does a lot of wedding cakes. and then make sure that if she uses fresh flowers on the cake, put in your contract that the florist is responsible for all the flowers and anything that may happen because of them.
