I am doing a fall theme color cake for a friend of mine. I am going for the "fall red" - that burnt red color you see on the fall trees with the golden yellow and orange with it. Now, I used Americolor's maroon thinking that would give me the dark red color I wanted. BUT it came out a very dark mauve. Is there any other color I can add to it to get that "fall red" I don't want to waste this icing if I don't have to!!

TIA!!

I would try adding some regular red and then maybe a drop of brown....I had the same problem with that stuff....

Thank you!!! It is a very pretty color, just not the one I was going for.
