I want something that is big like a sheet cake you buy in the bakery. what size do I need to get? Plus I want it thick, so I don't have to do 2 layers together, like the stores.

is there a certain serving number you're looking for? sheets are often 9x13, 10x15, 12x16, 12x18 and the largest one i've seen is a 16x24. some places may carry a 3 inch deep sheet pan, but the online places i order from and my local stores don't have them. so if you can find one, then you won't have to bake two layers. i don't know if this was even helpful, sorry!

Unfortunately, sheet cakes sizes are not standardized. However, these are the sizes I use:
9"x13" = quarter sheet
12"x18" = half sheet
16"x24: = full sheet

If you want a "deep" cake, you'll want to get pans that are 3 or 4 inches deep.

HTH!

that is what I was looking for, I just don't know how to make them smooth enough to do two cakes side by side without being able to tell they are 2 different cakes.

If you decide to get a 16x24 pan, make sure to measure your oven first to see if it will fit with enough space around for air circulation.
