I am looking at purchasing a software program for my cake business (and yes, considering Cake Boss too!) but wanted suggestions as to what some of you current business owners use... Something easy, basic, but covers everything... Thank you!!

We have been using Quik Books. My DH has played around with it more than me. He has talked to other people who have large businesses and many of them use it as well. The one thing I have used so far that I thought was nice was emailing people their invoices, it is delivered in Adobe Acrobat format.

I work as a consultant and have been using QuickBooks for my accounting and billing work for years now.

I'll second (third, fourth?) QuickBooks. I've worked for large companies that have used it as well as smaller businesses. It's really quite easy to set up too. Great for people like me who hate accounting of any kind. icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks everyone! I am leaning towards Quickbooks, so thanks for the information. I like the Cake Boss too... but want something that I can keep track of tax info, and download into Turbo Tax at year end. I don't think Cake Boss does that... or does it?!

I don't think it does. I mainly use Cake Boss for calculating the costs per slice and for keeping track of orders (with their calendar).
