Help, I Need Suggestions On How To Make A Fondant Bear

Will do my best to describe exactly how to make it, if it's too confusing, let me know and I'll make a small tutorial for you.
To make a bear:
Take a small ball for the body and shape into an elongated oval shape.
For the head, smaller ball and pinch the top of the head for the ears
For the legs... roll a thick-ish sausage shap and cut in half at an angle - this will be smoother attachment... attach to body with water/glue.
For arms - do the same as for legs, maybe not quite so thick though.
for the pads of the feet use a contrasting colour (ie; if a pink bear/body, use white for pads)
You can also add a contrast to the belly area --- small round ball flattened.
for the face, take a small ball of contrasting colour and flatten out slightly. This is the nose/mouth area... draw the nose & mouth ... alternatively you could place a small pink ball for the nose & draw the mouth... draw eyes, or use small balls of black/brown.
and if any of this makes sense, it should look like a bear... similar to the one in this link... http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=629083 (not made by me, but in the CC gallery)

I made one for a baby shower cake (in my photos) out of fondant and it was not too heavy. If you are concerned about weight, place a skewer through through the bear (not going to mention where to stick it...I think you get the idea), trim ithe skewer to the height of the cake so that the end rests on the cake board. It will support the bear from sinking and it will help stabilize your cake too if needed!
Hi, I made the bear just like Fi is writing, out of fondant with some tylose ( i think that is the same as gumtex) through it, but it is not necessary, and put just like Schmoop a skewer under it, went great, you really dont have to worry about the weight!!
I made my bear for a newborn cake, the pic is on this link:

Good luck with it!!
