I am making a cake for 50 guests. I need to make two shoe boxes stacked on each other to feed 50. Which pan(s) should I use to achieve this? I was thinking a 9x13 pan and stack the cakes on each other and cut down. Any easier suggestions?

Thanks,
dtmc

I can't help either (sorry!) but I do remember seeing some of the shoebox cake pictures and I think they mentioned how they made them there. I remember them saying they did the lids out of fondant or gumpaste and shaped them over the bottm of whatever pan you're using to bake the cake in (so they're the same size)..

Hope that at least helps a little!
