I have a cake due on Friday and need some advice. I am decorating the cake with the push-in-dowels and that means i'll have 1-inch in between the tiers. How many fresh roses would something like that take. Hopefully someone out there has been in my situation before and can tell me how many they used!!! I am doing a 12, 10, 8 and 6.

I would get at least 2- 3 dozen...make sure the florist also includes lots of greenery and babybreath(Great filler)....

Hi, if it's similar to the 50th anniversary cake in my pics, I used approxd 100. It takes more than you think. The cake in my pics that has the red roses took exactly 200 and even at that didn't have enough for the top. Had to snitch some petals to pile on top. Both of these cakes used 2 layers of roses between the tiers. Maybe you won't need 2 layers. If you give the florist the dimensions, they can figure for you. Good luck, I'm sure it will be beautiful.

I'd say 3-4 dozen.
