I'm new to Cake Central but found you guys when I needed help fulfilling my niece's request of a giant cupcake cake for her sweet sixteen party. Lemondrop pointed me in the direction of another member who had created one (can't recall his name but great job!) and I got some good ideas from that. Back then some of you asked for pictures when it was completed and I promised I would post them so, here they are. Thanks, again for all the help and suggestions. It was a lot of fun to do. Came out two feet tall and weighed a ton!
Next project to tackle will be a Backyardigans cake...probably Uniqua. For those without little toddlers, you probably don't have a clue what I'm talking about but, I'll bet there are some of you who have little ones running around that just love that show...my little granddaughter sure does! Now, how would you go about making uniqua, hmmm....
Dan
Ok, I can't figure out how to post the picture here - sorry - but, I did post one last night in the 3D/Food Gallery section, entitled "Cupcake Cake".
Thanks, again!
I just checked out your cake. You did an awesome job! Just to share something I learned, you can use a little water brushed on the back of fondant to make it stick. (A little help for your yellow sprinkles!) I loved that cupcake!
I'd love to know how you transported it. It's huge!
Thanks for your comments and the tip on getting those little buggers to stick. I was so "done" with the cake by the end I didn't really care if they were stuck on or not...ya know that feeling?
Transporting was a feat. I actually had my wife sit in the back seat and hold it the whole way...with a plastic bag and a towel covering the outfit she was wearing for the party. Yeah, that was fun. She was a good sport, though.
