I am trying to put a company logo on the side of a fondant covered cake. Any suggestions for the best way to do this? I was thinking about a piping transfer, or maybe I should cut the letters out of colored fondant and adhere to cake? I've only done a piping transfer onto buttercream... what type of icing to use for fondant tranfer... gel? royal? I don't think I can pipe it by hand because the letters are too thick.
help!!
Thanks,
Sugarbird

I can't give you much advice on the piping, but i normally use fondant to make logos and letters, just cutting them out with a tracing wheel. You can copy the logo and cut it out and then lay it on the fondant. I think this always looks really nice but probably with the piping too.
If you want to use RI, and don't have a very steady hand, just like me icon_biggrin.gif , i would make the logo on wax paper and first pipe the lines and then with a thinner RI fill it up. If it is quite big leave it to dry for at least two days!

Good luck!!
