I just finished handing off the cake! It's the first "cheap" cake that I feel good about. Please look at my cake pics and tell me what you think, please. It's the two-tier buttercream cake. TIA

awwww, thanks you all icon_redface.gif All of your kind praise is making me feel rich in friendship. I always say money is only a part of the reward for cake baking. The big prizes come from my feelings of accomplishment and the smiles on peoples faces. You all just gave me tips galore icon_wink.gif

That is a very nice little cake and the monogram is top-notch! I love how you swirled the top and bottom of the "D" around.

Your cake looks so nice! The writing on it is really neat. I love the topper too. I'm sure they really appreciated what you did!! It made their day even more special.

Your cake is wonderful and the writing is perfect!!! That is one of the sweetest things anyone could have done for the bride and groom...you should be so proud. I am proud of you!!!!

Teasom, thanks! After I let the writing (buttercream) crust, I painted lightly on it with an artist brush, cognac and super pearl dust. I wanted the writing to pop as they only wanted the one color. TFL
