What kind of wedding cake stands does everyone use?

I went to Edwards Cake Supply in Modesto (Hello! We NEED something like this in Fresno!) and they had some really awesome cake stands that RENT for $75+

Got me to thinking though how pretty they were. How many of you have purchased the silver cake stands? Who rents them? I usually just use the white cake plates... no complaints yet! But I can imagine the extra ooohs I'd get from a cool cake stand.

Cakesondemand, How is that red wreath constructed? My real question is... How does it hold the weight of that whole cake?

I have a glass pedestal cake stand that I put in the middle same height as the wreath and fits in perfectly to hold the cake.

I have several antique cake stands that I have picked up at auctions/consignment shops/estate sales. I rent them for $25 and charge a refundable equipment deposit. They really do add a nice touch to a wedding cake. I've also purchased cake stands from a couple websites. Here are the links:

http://www.bossmanufacturing.com (they have some nice silver stands as well as a great cupcake tree stand)

http://www.vanhorn-hayward.com (they make clear acrylic "floating" cake stands that are very nice ... the ones I've ordered from this site have been my most often used cake stands)
